Who am I?

This is the part of the website where I tell you a little bit about myself. I think you will find out a lot about me throughout the whole blog, but I do like the idea of a brief synopsis into my life, where I come from and how I got here!

My name is Ornella and I just had my 39th birthday. As I enter into (dare I say it) my 40th year on this planet I thought it would be therapeutic and fun to start a blog about me as a woman, mother, wife, fat person on a perpetual diet, sister, daughter, friend, shopperholica, and all around human being. If I can relate to even one person reading this, then I will be over the moon, as being a mother is literally the hardest and most emotionally exhausting job I have ever had! There are lots of us out there in the similar boats and I thought it might be nice to share my experiences.

Ok so I am 39, I was born in the UK and moved to the States when I was 29. I have lived on 3 different continents: Africa, Great Britain and North America. I am white and I would like to mention that I am very aware of my privileges in life, and I work hard every day to acknowledge this, not take them for granted and to learn what this means every day. To my Black and People of Color readers, I support you, I hear you and I will show up!

So join me as I navigate my way through motherhood, being a wife and trying to work out who the beep I am!
